OUR STORY
The Roving Apothecary is a small family business run by flavour enthusiast Rumble, selling his own artisan Spiced Honeys, quality herbs, spices and related products within a historical context and with a personal touch.

It started in 2013 taking over an existing historical Apothecary stall and quickly expanding the culinary range and experimenting with new ideas coming from a passion for plants and their many varied uses, history and great delight in challenging customer's taste buds.

We heard the story so often... 'That looks really interesting, but I havent got a clue what to do with it', so in July 2016 we launched the Forgotten Flavours brand, a series of innovative modern ingredients aiming to help people add intense flavours of the past into their every day cooking. Whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned chef these products can take you and your culinary delights as far as your imagination allows.
With these proving a resounding success, Rumble took the plunge in 2019 to concentrate on the business full-time and to get the word out there at Food Festivals and beyond.The Apothecary hasnt forgotten it roots though, and still stocks a wide range of luscious soaps, essential oils and of course herbs and spices!

You can find us at a wide range of country shows and food festivals with the Forgotten Flavours range and at historic events and re-enactments around the country with the full shebang including Herbs and Spices, Hand-blended Herbal Teas, Essential Oils and Handmade Soaps. In order to educate and amuse, all our labelling includes snippets of the history of plant and its uses over the ages.

Rumble is supported from the sidelines by his wife Helen, who acts as chief form filler and computer monkey.
